My oh my, Luke is already three months old. My [not-so] little baby weighed in at 15 pounds, 4 ounces today! Baby Luke sure loves his milk! {Note: All the studies show that you really cannot overfeed a breastfed baby, because they stop eating when they are satisfied. Everyone tells me once he starts moving, he'll drop those pounds off very quickly!}
In Luke's third month, he has gotten more vocal and smiley than before...which I adore. It's so fun to sit and chat with him. Everywhere we go, people comment on what a happy baby he is.
He is still as snuggly as ever!
Looks: I still see a lot of my dad in him, but I also see his daddy's and Oma's eye shape!
Oh...and speaking of looks... here's one for the books...Luke has perfected the sad lip. Look at this, folks.

He does this and my heart BREAKS. Once, he did it when I touched him but didn't pick him up. Break my heart, baby! Needless to say, was immediately scooped up and kissed.
Communication: Luke talks CONSTANTLY. I tell people he looks like my dad but he talks like my mom (for those of you that know her, you know I say that affectionately!)! The two of them just sit and carry on together like it's nobody's business. He will tell you all about what is on his mind.
Here's a video of Luke having a serious conversation with my dad, followed by a silly talk with my mom.

Here are some memorable moments of Luke's third month.
A few of Luke's firsts:
Luke went on a plane for the first time! He flew all the way to Florida with mommy, where he got to meet a ton of family! (A separate Florida post is in the works!) He did better than I could've dreamed on the plane. He slept almost the entire way, and when he wasn't sleeping, he was smiling at the guy next to me. The guy (who was about my age) said (many times) how adorable Luke was. He said "You know, normally when a mom gets on a plane with a baby, you're hoping they don't sit next to you...but your little boy is awesome!" Luke smiled at him. "Holy crap, he's cute!" The guy kept going on and on about what a good baby Luke is, which made me feel great. I thanked him for his kind words, and (to give him a heads up that Luke might get upset) told him I was concerned about Luke's ears hurting during the descent of the flight. Upon descent, Luke was sound asleep and then started to holler a bit, and since the guy knew it was his ears bothering him, he said "Aww his poor little ears" and didn't get bothered that Luke started to fuss. I immediately started to nurse him, and the fussing stopped. Luke felt better, and when he was done eating, he sat up in my lap smiling at that guy again. There were times the guy was reading and Luke would just stare at him and smile, just waiting for the guy to make eye contact! It was so cute. After we landed, people around me stood up and commented on how well Luke did. One person was even surprised that I had a baby with me, because she had no idea. I say all this to say how proud I am of Luke doing well, but I realize that all of this could change for our next flight! We'll see how he does as a five month old in December! Hopefully it goes just as well. Boy, we will look like something else when we travel then...the four of us plus our two dogs! Haha!
Luke's first time wearing a tie:
Daddy is watching TV. Luke is watching...Mommy.
My geeky guys:
Sugar sits and watches Luke. "Please wake up so I can play with you."
Luke likes to go out on walks; here we are out for a little stroll:
Luke loves bath time. He likes to "float" with his head in the water. It's adorable!
Here
we are at Luke's 2 month checkup (he was about 2.5 months old). This
was obviously taken before vaccines were given because I don't have
tears running down my face.

Luke 's first "sport"...Luke and I joined a mommy and me exercise group. It was a lot of fun. Here we are doing lunges! (Luke is tummy down, and almost asleep!)
After our exercising, Luke always slept great. (Yay, fresh air!)
One day, he slept for an unusually long time.....I could hear him sigh in his sleep and knew he was fine, but when I went to check on him, this is what I found! No wonder he slept so well!
Luke's first time seeing his cousin:
Luke FaceTimed with Georgia and she got to show him her nail polish!

Luke's first daytrip:
We went up to Apple Hill where it was very chilly! Here we are with Ruia and Maya (who is very interested in Luke!)!

Luke attended his first soccer game, watching Austin play! (Sort of, haha)
Luke wore shoes for the first time:
I don't have a picture unfortunately, but when we walked in and sat down with Luke one Sunday at church, a sweet two year old girl pointed at him and yelled "Oh I just LOOOVE him!!!" in the sweetest voice ever. It was adorable.
Luke's first...I don't even know what to call this...
Luke came with me to a doctor appointment and when my doctor saw him she said (and I quote), "He's so adorable! He looks like a forty year old man!".....
yeah.
Luke and I both gave her this look:

She then said "Your baby is trying to talk." I told her he has lots to say. Then she turned to him and said, "Can you be quiet? You're giving me a headache!" I was at a loss. I had no idea how to respond to that! I think she was joking but she is such a serious person, I can't be sure.
Anyhoo, I can't believe Luke is working on his fourth month now. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, time is still flying. I love this little baby more than I ever could've imagined.
Up next: Luke visits Florida!

Is 15 pounds a good weight for a 3 month baby? You're really pretty in these pictures by the way. I love that he is such a happy, smiley baby. Sounds like a breeze to take care of. And all those faces. The sad lip & the one eyebrow raise. Amazing! In the wtching TV pictures, its like he making sure you're still taking pictures of him for your scrapbooks later on.
