Something That We Do

Love is something that we do!

Logan is One Month Old

Ah, a sweet, "freshly squeezed" tiny newborn baby.
Logan.
He is just a doll.
These are photos from his first month.
We have so enjoyed him.
"Newbornhood" this time around has been so much easier than with Luke.
Mama's expectations were that things would be so much more difficult, but things were so much smoother this time!
Logan is a great sleeper. He takes a few four hour stretches throughout the night. Thank you baby, mama appreciates that oh so much.
We enjoy our time with him so much.
Look at these little tiny baby feet. Aren't they just so yummy?!
And the peach fuzz on his little arms and shoulders.
So sweet and delicious.
He's so expressive when he is asleep.
Here are my precious littles on Logan's first day at church.
Once we got home from the hospital, Luke wanted to go on a bike ride. So I wrapped up the wee one and off we went. ( I told you life was so much easier with my second born!)

We were so blessed for our church family bringing us delicious food.
Luke got tired of the small talk and visiting so he escaped to Logan's nursery that was so close to completion.
I snuck in and found him trying to assemble the crib.

He's such an amazing big brother.
Look at this sweet brotherly love.
I love my little boys. So so much. My heart could just burst.

Look at that sweet sleepy little grin.
I love Logan's wide eyed expression like Luke just told him some sort of juicy secret.
A few days after Logan was out of my tummy, Luke and I headed out for another one-on-one date.
I missed my big boy when I was in the hospital to have Logan.
And I need him to always know how important he is to me.
Momau came to watch Logan so Luke and I could run away for a little bit.
Little Logan enjoying a stroller ride around our neighborhood.
We went to our cul de sac for a Fourth of July celebration.
Two days later, momma had to have surgery and have the ole gallbladder removed.
I was pretty emotional since I had a wee baby at home.
But the doctors were amazing and a allowed me to keep Logan with me right until I went under.
He got lots of nursing in before going home to Momau for a few hours, until I could get back to him.
Luke loves laying in bed every night and reading a story with mama or daddy. We lay Logan right inside his arms and they snuggle. They're so precious together, my heart is basically in a puddle on the floor.
After reading a story and snuggling, they are both sound asleep.

We took Logan with us to Luke's best friend's house and Logan decided to roll over for the very first time!

Logan makes the funniest expressions in his sleep. He constantly makes me giggle.

I'm telling you, his sleepy faces make me laugh so hard I cry sometimes.

He is just the sweetest little thing.
So precious.
When he was napping our floor, Luke drew him a sweet picture of him and his baby brother together in grass. Luke slipped it under Logan's hand as a gift for when he wakes up.

When it was time for Logan's first doctor checkup, the whole family went.
Luke wanted to guard him and make sure everyone was sweet to his baby.

Look at the size of Luke's "little" four year old hands, compared to Logan's tiny newborn head.
Or, "bear paws" as we lovingly call them!

Momau loves her little boys!

I have really enjoyed seeing Logan's little eyes.
He reminds me of Luke in so many ways yet they are also so different.
I remember Luke didn't open his eyes much in his first days, but Logan came out very alert.
He looks at everything and takes it all in...an observer, if you will.

Once Logan's umblical stump fell off, Luke was so excited to help me bathe him.
We did a patio bath, Florida style.
Logan loved it.
So did Luke.
Luke was ready to wash every single part of Logan, which surprised me since I had handed him a wet diaper to throw away and he nearly threw up at the thought of it.
He literally gagged to touch a wet diaper, and asked that I never hadn't him another used diaper.
But he will bathe the baby.
He just loves him.

Logan LOVES looking at the black rectangular frames on our living room wall.
We say he likes looking at our family photos.
So often when we hold him on the couch, he just stares behind us and studies all of the photos.
He is in awe!

Brotherly love.
Melts this mama's heart.

Logan's little lip is the cutest.
His top lip overlaps his bottom one and it makes us smile so much.

I had to go for blood work and little one had to eat in the car.
He's so laid back. He nursed and then just hung out with me in the front seat for a few minutes while we were parked.
It's hard to put him back in the car seat when all I want to do is snuggle and kiss him.
He is so yummy.

Our big boy Luke turned FOUR years old!
We celebrated at home and with a few close friends at the pool!

I can't help but wonder what each of them are thinking!

Look at the sweet little sleepy boys.

Luke told us that taking care of a baby is really hard work and it makes him really tired!

Thankful for morning snuggles.

My doula, Amy, came for my post party checkup and snapped this photo before we reviewed my labor.

Poor sweet Luke came down with a horrible stomach bug.
He was so nauseous.
And having diarrhea.
Which meant we had to keep him away from his baby buddy.
Which broke his momma and daddy's hearts.
He was so pitiful.

After fighting a fever with meds as long as possible, it was time to head to the hospital for fluids.
His little body was just working as hard as possible and couldn't kick it.
And momma had a hard time not being able to go to the ER with Lukey.
Daddy took him and of course Luke was fine, but he's still my baby.
But I couldn't bring my newer baby to the ER germs, and since I'm nursing, I stayed with him.
Daddy sent me these pictures.

Here's a brave face to send to momma.
After some fluids and a slushy, Luke perked up.
Hallelujah!

I couldn't sleep until Luke go home in the wee hours of the morning so I was pretty tired the next day.
That's okay though.
Momma's gotta do what momma's gotta do.

Once Luke was in the clear from his virus, he was happy to dish out extra baby love.

Good morning, baby!

Good night, Luke.
Look at how this little boy sleeps.
He rotates like a clock all night long.
Luke woke up in the morning ready to get started on his arts and crafts.
He stuck a pencil behind his ear and asked me if he looks like his Poppa.
I love that Luke adores Logan so much he even asks to match him.
Here they are in their matching brother shirts again.
Look at that sweet little sleeper.
Aunt Donna came over to meet my newest little precious one.
She enjoyed his little newborn baby snuggles.
We all enjoy his snuggles.
Even the fur babies.

Look at these sweet puppy cuddles!
I think the newborn stage is Belle's favorite.
Sweet dreams little one.
